Albuquerque Chess Club

Meets Thursdays from 5:30pm to 9pm
Open to all ages and skill levels
Every week is a USCF rated event with no entry fee required to play
You may bring your own boards and clocks. Sets and clocks are available.

Bear Canyon Chess Club

Bear Canyon Senior Center, 4645 Pitt Street NE, Abq 87111

Meets Mondays Wednesdays Fridays 11:30-2:30

Tuesdays Thursdays & Saturdays flexible hours by appointment ~

Coronado Chess Club

Wednesdays 7:00pm at Frontier Restaurant on Central Ave. in Albuquerque, across from UNM (in the back room). Two unrated rounds , G25+5 — plus informal games and analysis ’til late in the night (Frontier is open 5am-1am). This is a long-standing club with character. Walk-ins welcome. Ernest Miramontes is currently running the club. 

Empire Chess Club

Every Sunday except holidays at Jasons Deli 5920 Holly Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113, 5pm to 9pm, all ages and levels welcome for casual play.  No charge to play, sets and clocks provided.  $0.25 rated games.  For more info contact Steve Perea at 505-315-8709 or chess.coach.steve@gmail.com

Learners Chess Academy (Scholastic)

Clubs, Camps, and casual Tournaments all over the Albuquerque area. After School Clubs are currently offered at over 20 Elementary Schools around town. Meadowlark Chess Club

Meets at the Meadowlark Senior Center, 4330 Meadowlark Lane, SE in Rio Rancho, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 5 to 8pm.  Co-sponsor of chess events held at the Meadowlark Center.  Average age is 70 to 75 years. West Mesa Chess Club

West Mesa Community Center Chess Club. Address: 5500 Glenrio Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105 (Easy freeway access from I-40 west to Coors south to Glenrio east). The Center opens up at 8:00 am on Saturday and the Chess Club members play from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Center usually closes for holidays and you can call the center at (505) 836-3487 to verify. We have a have a large playing site with large tables to provide adequate spacing between players. All ages and chess strengths are welcomed. Usual playing strength of club members is around 1200 to 1900. Play is very informal. Come join us for a good game of chess, a free cup of coffee and donuts while they last.
